Akki Roti - Karnataka Style

Ingredients

Rice powder - 2 cups
Onions (medium size) - 2 nos
(finely chopped)
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
Jeera - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tbsp

DIRECTIONS

Step 1. Mix finely chopped onions, coriander leaves, curry leaves and green chillies, capsicum and grated carrot in a bowl.
Step 2. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan add fry mustard seeds jeera, channadal and urad dal. 3)Add the above to the rice powder with salt and mix with water to make a dough.
Step 3. Add oil to this in order to avoid getting stuck to the hands.
Step 4. Apply oil on a polythene paper or take a piece of cloth.
Step 5. Make balls of the rice mix and spread one on the paper with your hand in the shape of rotis.
Step 6. Heat oil in a pan.
Step 7. Put the roti in it and cook with oil on both the sides.
Step 8. Repeat the procedure for the remaining dough.
Step 9. :- Serve with coconut chutney and yoghurt.
