  • 1)Cut bittergourd into small pieces and leave it in salt water for an hour or so.
  • 2)Drain the water and squeeze out the excess water from the bitter gourd and keep it aside.
  • 3)Heat oil in a pan.
  • 4)Fry onions, green chilly, ginger and garlic.
  • 5)When onion becomes brown, add chilly powder and asafoetida.
  • 6)Add the bittergourd pieces and vinegar and mix well.
  • 7)Add salt as required.
  • 8)Cook till bittergourd is cooked.
  • 9)Splutter mustard seeds in another pan and add this to the above bitter gourd mixture.
  • 10)Remove from flame.
