  • 1)Cut chicken into medium sized pieces and wash well.
  • 2)Blend grated coconut, cumin seeds and poppy seeds in a mixer grinder.
  • 3)Heat oil in a frying pan.
  • 4)Fry cinnamon sticks, cloves and cardamom.
  • 5)When fried, add onions and green chillies and stir fry, till onion turns brown.
  • 6)Add chicken pieces, coriander powder, chilly powder and salt. Stir well for a little while.
  • 7)Add chopped tomatoes and curd along with a cup of water. Allow it to boil.
  • 8)When chicken is half-cooked, add the blended coconut mixture, coriander leaves and boil well, till chicken is fully cooked.

    I tried it once and it came out just as i had expected it to be....It tasted just like my moms chicken kuruma....Very nice recipe....keep posting good recipes like this...Thanx a lot for the recipe.Iam gonna make it again today....

    Dear Pachakam.com, No offence, but I have to say this recipe is really bad. First of all there are no specific measurements of the ingredients. A spoon can be teaspoon, Desertspoon or Tablespoon, so what spoon do we use? Secondly, 3 nos of Onions for 1/2 kg chicken is too much, unless otherwise if you are talking about button onions! Third, You can never get the poppy seeds grinded together with grated coconut. Poppy seed has to be soaked in coconut milk for atleast 30 mins before you can grind in to fine paste. There is also something wrong in the preparation method.
