Green Gram (Cherupayar) Burfi

A nutritious sweet made of cherupayar & coconut milk

DIRECTIONS

Step 1. Cook green gram dhal in a pressure cooker adding just enough water(3 whistles will be enough). Drain water & keep it aside.
Step 2. Add ghee to a frying pan & saute cashews & raisins and keep it aside.
Step 3. Add cooked gram to the pan & saute for some time keeping on low flame.
Step 4. Add sugar to it.
Step 5. Stir continuously until the sugar melts completely & mix well with the gram.
Step 6. Continuously stirring, add coconut milk & mix well ad remove from flame when the mixture is almost going to condense.
Step 7. Remove the mixture into a flat bottomed vessel & decorate with cashews, raisins & cherry fruits and keep it for some time under room temperature.
Step 8. Cut into squares, so that each piece will have one cherry fruit.
