Raw rice(Pachari) : 1 cup
Water : 5 cups
Sugar : 3 tbsp
Jaggery(Sharkara) : 1/4 kg(melted)
Coconut milk : 2 cups
Ghee : 1 tsp
Cumin powder(Jeerakam) : 1/2 tsp
Dry ginger(Chukku) powder : 1 tsp
Cardamom powder(Elakka) : 1/2 tsp
Directions:
1. For preparing idichu pizhinja payasam, cook pachari in water. 2. When the rice gets cooked and the water starts draining, add melted jaggery and sugar and cook again. 3. Add ghee and coconut milk to it. Cook again for 5 minutes. 4. Add cumin powder, cardamom powder and dry ginger. Mix well. 5. Remove from flame and serve hot.
