  • 1)Heat 1 tbsp of coconut oil in a pressure cooker.
  • 2)Add onion, dry red chillies cut into two pieces, garlic, coconut kotthu, kadala( channa)and about 4 glasses or more water.
  • 3)Cook upto 12 whistles.
  • 4)Add coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt and cook for 5 mins on a medium flame.
  • 5)Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan.
  • 6)Splutter mustard seeds.
  • 7)Add 2 tbsp of coconut kotthu and shallots and saute it till it becomes slight golden brown.
  • 8)Add 3 stems of curry leaves and add this to the kadala curry.

    Don`t forget to soak the kadala overnight in water or atleast soak it in hot water for 4 hours before cooking it.Else you will have hard time getting it well-cooked.Also adding salt after the kadala is cooked will help!
