    to make Kanjeevaram Idli

  • 1)Soak rice and black gram for a few hours.
  • 2)Wash and grind to a coarse batter adding enough water.
  • 3)Keep it overnight for fermentation. 4)Heat oil in a pan.
  • 5)Add the rest of the ingredients and sautT.
  • 6)Add it to the batter along with the salt.
  • :- Make sure that the batter is thick.
  • 7)Steam in Idli moulds or greased plate for 10 - 20 mins. :-Serve hot with tomato chutney or Sambhar.
