  • 1)Cook tapioca pieces along with salt in a pressure cooker, till it is done.
  • 2)Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • 3)Add crushed onions and garlic and sautT for a while.
  • 4)Add turmeric powder followed by chilly powder and fry.
  • 5)Add curry leaves and sautT again.
  • 6)Add salt, if reqd.
  • 7)Add the chopped and cooked tapioca pieces and mix well.
  • 8)Keep it on flame till the whole mixture gets mixed well.

    Turned out really nice -- I would add the garlic after the shallots or little onions are almost done since browned garlic can sometimes turn bitter. Found breaking up a few red chillies tasted good too(more kid friendly if your child doesn`t care for spice after too much pizza and pasta as used to here in the US)

    excellent recipe, can try frying some grated coconut along with onions and garlic(my mom`s way of making it),definitely adds to the taste.

    Thx Priya....but do try with lots of garlic too... well, if you like garlic of course... do not chop it but just crush the unpeeled pods a bit and fry it after you do the seasoning. believe me, it is absolutely yummy... and btw, adding garlic is good for the tummy too...:)
