    to make Kerala Style Kadala Curry

  • 1)Soak kadala overnight and pressure cook with salt, till done.
  • 2)Mix together the coriander and chilly powder with little water to a paste and keep aside for 7 - 10 mins.
  • 3)Heat oil in a pan.
  • 4)Splutter mustard seeds.
  • 5)Add red chillies, shallots and curry leaves and saute for 2 mins.
  • 6)Add onion and saute till light brown.
  • 7)Add the crushed garlic, crushed clove-perinjeerakam and chilly-coriander paste and saute for 3 - 4 mins.
  • 8)Add 2 tsp of water and wait for oil to separate.
  • 9)Add the cooked kadala along with water.
  • 10)Cook on low flame for 10 mins.
  • :- Serve hot with puttu.
