  • 1)Clean the fish and make gashes on both sides.
  • 2)Grind together pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  • 3)Smear the fish with the ground masala and keep aside for some time.
  • 4)Grind together coriander, chilly, turmeric and pepper powder to a fine paste.
  • 5)SautT onions, green chillies, garlic and curry leaves in oil and remove.
  • 6)Fry the fish lightly in the same oil and keep them aside.
  • 7)Add some more oil and fry mustard and sautT the ground masala.
  • 8)Add fish, tamarind, the sautT ed masala and the coconut milk.
  • 9)Cover the pan and allow it to cook.
  • 10)When the curry boils, add the sautTed green masala.
  • 11)Keep the pan open, lower the flame and continue cooking.
  • 12)When the fishes are coated with the gravy and the curry is almost dry, remove from fire.
  • 13)Wrap each fish in a piece of wilted plantain leaf or tin foil and tie it securely.
  • :- Serve hot.
