Raw mango/Cucumber/Chayote/Pineapple/
Carrot/Squash
(cut into small pieces) : 1 : 2 cups
Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
Grated coconut : 3 tbsp
Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) : 1/2 tsp
Green chillies : 1 : 2 nos
Salt : As reqd
Sugar : As reqd (optional)
Mustard seeds : 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves : A few
Dry red chillies : 2 : 3 nos
Curd/Yoghurt : 1 cup
Directions:
1. Cook the vegetable in water by adding turmeric powder and salt. 2. Grind together the grated coconut, green chillies and jeera seeds and add this mixture to the cooked vegetable and cook again. 3. Add sugar if the sweetness is not enough. 4. Heat a pan. Add oil and splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves and red chilly and pour it to the mixture. 5. Allow this mixture to cool. 6. Finally, add the reqd yoghurt into this mixture and mix well.

Heat a pan. Add oil and splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves and red chilly and pour it to the mixture.

Allow this mixture to cool.

Step 6

Finally, add the reqd yoghurt into this mixture and mix well.

I am also from Kerala. Kerala style is same as it is in here. Yogurt is clearly mentioned. I use a pinch of suger in most of my recipes. That is the secret ingredient which gives a divine taste. My european brother-in-laws and sis-in-laws love my Kerala recipes. Its all matter of tastebuds, so pachadi can be any way.

This recipe is meant for ones who have an idea of the different pachadies, but not sure of the exact method. Sugar is added only if ripe mango, carrot or pineapple is used. Its a pretty good recipe.Thanks Pinky.

this is not bad, but you can omit the coconut,,i`ve learned to cook the cucumber/ginger/and onion in water then drain that last put all the spices to the mixture, anyway this is good

Main couses or even side dishes in kerala recipies are not supposed to be sweet usually.

Dear customers ,Your people want to think one matter, that is this is the item without yogurt,Our like people will make this item .It is different item only ,I got this method from one of my hindu friend,They use this almost with SADYA only.Only one matter want to add in this receipe that is we should grind mustard seeds and coconut together.

This is not the way to prepare pachadi Grind Jeera, green chillies, mustard and add to the boiled veggies. After that when the mixture is cooled add yoghurt and salt. I will taste delicious

You have given in the Descriptioniption its a curry of vegetables in yoghurt but in your recipe there`s no mention of yoghurt.
