Rice : 300 gms Or 2 cups
Chicken : 500 gms or 1 pound
Onions(small size) : 100 gms
(chopped)
Whole hot green chillies : 4:6 nos
(depending upon your taste)
Ginger:Garlic : 2 tsp
Tomatoes : 3 nos
(chopped)
Chilli Powder : 1 tsp
Spices powder : 2 tsp
Salt : as reqd
Lemon : half
Cilantro : 1 tbsp
(chopped)
Mint leaves : 1 tbsp
(chopped)
Vegetable Oil : 2 tbsp
Ghee or Butter : 1 tbsp
Water : 4 cups
Spices Powder:
Cinnamon : 4 pieces (1" size)
Cardamom : 3 nos
Cloves : 3 nos
:: Heat a pan without oil and roast these spices n medium flame for 2min and powder it.
Directions:
1. Heat oil and ghee or butter in pressure cooker. 2. Add chopped onions and whole chillies and fry till onions become transparent. 3. Add gingergarlic paste and saute for 2 minutes. 4. Add chopped tomatoes and saute for 3 minutes. 5. Add chilly powder, spices powder, salt, Chicken and 1 cup water and mix well. 6. Close the cooker and allow for 2 whistles. 7. After the whistle stops let it rest for some time. 8. Then open the cooker and check for salt and spices. 9. If everything is good,add lemon, chopped cilantro, mint, remaining 3cups water and rice. 10. Mix well and close the
cooker lid and allow for 1 whistle. 11. Carefully open the lid after it stops its steam and mix the biryani well from bottom to top and serve with curd raitha. 12. :- Chicken biryani is ready.
