  • 1)Roast rava on a low flame. Keep aside and allow it to cool.
  • 2)Cut onion and potato into small pieces.
  • 3)Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan.
  • 4)Add all the seasoning ingredients
  • 5)Add onion and fry till it becomes translucent.
  • 6)Add potato and fry for a few minutes.
  • 7)Add 1 1/2 cups of water and cover the lid.
  • 8)Bring it to boil and let the potatoes cook nicely.
  • 9)Mix grated ginger, salt and sugar. Lower the flame.
  • 10)Add roasted rava little by little. Keep stirring while adding, so that there will not be any lumps.
  • 11)Close the lid and cook for few minutes.
  • 12)Garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut. Drizzle ghee on it.
  • :- Serve hot.

    Turned out to be an amazing uppuma. Next time, will add a few other veggies along with potatoes for color and nutrition.
