Ingredients

Raw banana - 400 gm
Pepper corns (optional)- 16 nos
Curd - 225 gm
For seasoning:
Broken red chillies(Kollamulaku) -1 no

DIRECTIONS

1. Boil, peel and cut bananas into roundels.
2. Mix together bananas, chilly powder, half the turmeric, salt and enough water to cook bananas fairly dry.
3. Grind together to a very fine paste, coconut, pepper corns, rest of turmeric and cumin seeds.
4. When bananas are cooked, add ground ingredients, well beaten curd and more salt.
5. Simmer, stirring occasionally till the mixture becomes quite thick (10 -15 minutes). Remove from fire.
6. Heat oil in a pan.
7. Add fenugreek, mustard seeds and broken red chillies.
8. When seeds crackle, add curry leaves and temper the dish.
9. :- Serve as a side dish for plain rice.

Thanks for the recipe. I made sour curd by keeping the curd in a warm oven for 1 hr after adding few drops of lemon juice. It tastes really good. I made it for onam.

This is fine as long as you are in India.If you are from a foreign land, Please take care that your curd is sour (puliche thyru upyogikku) or else this recpie goes for a toss
