Ingredients for Green Gram (Cherupayar) Burfi Recipe
Green gram dhal(Cherupayar parippu) - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Thick coconut milk - 2 cups
Ghee - 2 tsp
Cashew nuts - 2 tbsp
Raisins - 1 tbsp
Cherry fruits - 10 nos

Preparation Method of Green Gram (Cherupayar) Burfi Recipe
1)Cook green gram dhal in a pressure cooker adding just enough water(3 whistles will be enough). Drain water & keep it aside.

2)Add ghee to a frying pan & saute cashews & raisins and keep it aside.

3)Add cooked gram to the pan & saute for some time keeping on low flame.

4)Add sugar to it.

5)Stir continuously until the sugar melts completely & mix well with the gram.

6)Continuously stirring, add coconut milk & mix well ad remove from flame when the mixture is almost going to condense.

7)Remove the mixture into a flat bottomed vessel & decorate with cashews, raisins & cherry fruits and keep it for some time under room temperature.

8)Cut into squares, so that each piece will have one cherry fruit.
