Urad dal(Uzhunnu parippu) - 2 cups
Raw rice - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 500g
Vegetable oil/ghee - 400ml
Rose essence - Few drops
Jilebi colour - A pinch
Preparation Method of Jilebi Recipe
1)For preparing jilebi, soak urad dal and raw rice separately for about one hour.
2)Grind urad dal in a grinder till it becomes frothy.
3)Grind raw rice finely in a mixer grinder.
4)Mix the two and keep aside for 30 minutes.
5)In a kadai heat oil/ghee and make round coils out of the batter into the oil(you can make any shapes of coils, usually it is flower-shaped) and fry till they are crisp and golden in colour. It should not become brown.(For making coils, squeeze the batter through a press).
6)In another kadai, add 2 cups of water and sugar and heat to make a syrup. Add food colour and rose essence.
7)When the fried coils are warm dip them in sugar syrup, leave for 2-3 minutes and take them out.
