Young leaves are used as laxative and the red fruit juice to treat conjuctivitis. The leaves are used to cure stomachache and constipation.

Nutrient Value :

Rich in energy, protein, fat carbohydrate, calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, ascorbic acid etc.

Culinery and Other Values :

Used as potherb in soups and stews. Also used as green salad. The fruits are used for dyeing. The red fruit juice can be used as ink, as cosmetic and for coloring foods.
