The juice of bottle gourd is a valuable medicine for excessive thirst due to severe diarrhea, diabetes and excessive use of fatty or fried foods. Also used in treatment of insanity, epilepsy and other nervous diseases. Can be beneficial for stomach acidity, indigestion and ulcers.

Bottle gourd is rich in essential minerals, iron, protein and trace elements. Also rich in fibre.

Culinery and Other Values :

It is mostly used as a vegetable.The vegetable is used as a stir-fry or in the soup in the southern Chinese cuisine.
