Oregano oil possesses carminative, stomachic, diuretic, diaphoretic properties, antioxidant and anti-microbial properties. Used in whooping cough and bronchitis. Also used as external application on wounds.

Oregano finds application in processing of meat, sausages, salads, dressings, stews and soups. Oregano oil is used in alcoholic beverages and baked goods like pizza etc.
