Step 1

For preparing Thulu Chicken, first heat 3 tbsp oil or ghee in a pan.

Step 2

Fry red chillies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper seeds, fenugreek seeds, garam masala, turmeric powder, garlic cloves, half of onion pieces and coconut pieces to a golden brown color. Blend the mixture along with tamarind mixture to a fine paste. Keep this mixture aside.

Step 3

Clean the chicken and cut into pieces.

Step 4

Marinate chicken pieces with the above mixture for 1/2 an hour.

Step 5

Heat ghee oil in a pan.

Step 6

Fry chopped onions and stir in the marinated chicken pieces. Add required salt and some water. Boil the curry and lower the flame when boiling starts.

Step 7

When the gravy is thick and the chicken pieces are soft and succulent, remove Thulu Chicken from flame.

Step 8

Thulu Chicken is ready.

Why do people put ingredients measured by grams... why don`t you put in terms of tsp or tbsps. ? Life is much easier that way. For thulu chicken, the quantity of coriander seeds is way more than qty of methi seeds. If u put too much methi, it is bound to become bitter.

hey guyz...plzzzzzzz dont try this recipe...sanjay is full of crap..tulu chicken is a different recipe altogeter..this recipe is nowhere close to that.....Go to buntaravani.com..if u want a tulu chicken recipe. Sorry sanjay dear for being rude but fact is fact...
