For preparing adai dosa, first soak the raw rice, black gram(Urad dal) and Toor dal for about 6-8 hours. Drain the water from this mix of raw rice, black gram and toor dal.
Wash it again and grind it along with chopped pearl onion, grated coconut, cumin seeds, red chilly and asafoetida.
Make a paste of these items after mixing required water and required quantity of salt.
Heat a non-stick pan/dosa pan and apply some oil in it. Put one big spoon of the above paste, spread it and apply some oil(gingelly/refined oil) or ghee. When it is cooked well, remove from pan.
Please note that it will be very tasty if we make the dosas using fresh ground mix. Adai dosa can be served with coconut/onion/tomato chutney or pickles. This is a tasty break-fast/dinner dish for adults and children as well.
