Step 1

Cook chana in a pressure cooker till done.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.

Step 3

Splutter mustard seeds.

Step 4

SautT the finely chopped onions.

Step 5

Add the finely chopped tomatoes and sautT, till they blend well.

Step 6

Add chilly powder and coriander powder and sautT further.

Step 7

Add butter and mix well.

Step 8

When a nice aroma comes, add the potato pieces along with 2 cups of water.

Step 9

Allow it to boil.

Step 10

Add the cooked chana followed by salt and mix well.

Step 11

When the gravy starts to thicken, add the lemon juice.

Step 12

Remove from the flame.

Tried this and it was very tasty. Very easy to cook as well. The reason am not saying its excellent is that the proportions were not right. I used 2 cups chopped onions, 2 cups diced potatoes, 4 cups chicpeas..1.5tsp chilli pwdr, 4 tbsp coriander powder. The measuring cup I used was the one supplied with the rice cooker.

Hai, Tahnk u for this recipe. i rarely eat chick peas and was not sure if i will like it as said in this recipe. thanks to u it tured out tasty. i didn`t add water to it...i liked it dry and the butter added a good taste. thank u
