Pressure cook red gram, spinach, green chillies, garlic and tomato, till the dal is cooked.
:- You get pre-washed spinach in any US grocery store. You don`t even have to chop the spinach. Just tear it down with your hand easily.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter.
Add the cooked ingredients and stir for a little while.
Add salt along with enough water.
Very simple, yet better tasting than more complicated recipes.

Adding tomatoes (while separtely is the way to prepare better daal, otherwise it wont taste good. Add it while seasoning it with musturds in the oil.
