Step 1

For preparing beetroot curry, pressure cook the lentils in salt water.

Step 2

Mean while grind coconut, water and cumin seeds till smooth. Keep it aside.

Step 3

To the cooked lentils, add in the beetroot, sambar masala, turmeric powder, tomato, green chillies and salt. Allow the beetroot to cook.

Step 4

Once the beetroot is cooked, pour in the coconut paste and allow it to simmer on low flame. Remove it from the flame.

Step 5

In a vessel heat oil and splutter mustard seeds.

Step 6

Toss in the dry red chillies and pour it into the beetroot curry. Mix it.

Step 7

Beetroot curry is ready.
