For preparing biriyani rice with mussel masala, cook the mussels with the shells in a little water. Drain the water and remove the mussels from it¦s shell. Wash it well.
Marinate the mussels with salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 2 tbsp chilly powder for 1 hour. 3)Heat oil in a frying pan and fry mussels till it becomes brown in colour. Keep it aside.
In the same deep frying pan, pour in the ghee and saute onions till it becomes light brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste, salt and green chillies. Saute it on low flame for 2 minutes.
Then add in the tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilly powder, garam masala and curry leaves. Continue to sautT it on low flame till the oil separates.
Add in the curd, fried mussels, coriander leaves and mint leaves. Allow it to simmer on low flame for 5 minutes and remove it from the flame.
In another vessel, pour 5 cups of hot water with biryani rice and required salt. Mix it well.
Allow it cook on low flame till the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
Garnish with lemon juice.
Biriyani rice with mussel masala is ready. Serve mussel masala with rice immediately.
