Step 1

Clean the vegetables and slice into long pieces.

Step 2

Wash the dal, boil 3 cups of water and cook dal in it.

Step 3

Add turmeric powder and curry leaves into the dal and keep it aside.

Step 4

Fry the coriander seeds, fenugreek, turmeric powder, dried chilly, asafoetida powder and red chilly powder together in 1/2 tsp coconut oil.

Step 5

Grind it to a smooth paste and keep aside.

Step 6

Mash the tamarind in 1 cup water and strain.

Step 7

Boil the tamarind water with red chilly powder, salt, curry leaves, asafoetida and molasses.

Step 8

Add the vegetables and cook till done. Then add the prepared dal and ground paste into it.

Step 9

Add the grated coconut and boil it.

Step 10

Season with mustard seeds and dried chillies.

Step 11

Sprinkle the chopped coriander leaves in to it.

Step 12

Remove from fire after boiling well.

Step 13

:- Your Brahmin`s Sambar is ready!!
:- Serve the Brahmin`s Sambar in hot with Idly, Rice, Dosa etc!!
:- Enjoy cooking Brahmin`s Sambar!!
