Step 1

Soak the butter beans for about 6 hours.

Step 2

Pressure cook the beans for 2 whistles.

Step 3

Heat the oil in a tawa.

Step 4

Fry the cloves, cardamom and cinnamon for a few mins.

Step 5

Add the chopped onions and fry till they turn light brown.

Step 6

Add the ginger garlic paste and fry for 2 mins.

Step 7

Allow the contents of the tawa to cool.

Step 8

In a mixer, add the tomato and tawa contents and blend to a coarse paste.

Step 9

Add the paste back to the tawa and now add the tumeric, chilly, coriander and garam masala powders and fry for about 5 mins.

Step 10

:- The raw smell of the masala should go.

Step 11

Add the butter beans, 1/2 cup of water and salt.

Step 12

Cook for about 5 mins till the gravy thickens.

Step 13

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Step 14

:- Its got a wonderful buttery taste and goes well with chapattis and rice.
