Step 1

Soak kabuli chana in water for about 8 hours.

Step 2

Steam the chana in a pressure cooker until it is overcooked.

Step 3

Grind together the tomato, onion, a few coriander leaves, mint leaves and cumin seeds.

Step 4

Heat oil in a pan.

Step 5

Add to it a cup of chopped onions, the ground mixture followed by salt, red chiily powder and the cooked channa dal.

Step 6

Fry till you get everything mixed up well.

Step 7

Next, add garam masala powder and mix well.

Step 8

Finally, garnish with a bunch of fresh coriander leaves and place a piece of lime on it.

Jayashi, thank you for this simple recipe. it really came out well. and this is for Melissa. 1 no means 1 number. Onion - 1 no, Tomato - 1 no etc simply means use one onion, one tomato and so on.

Sorry..I don`t know what 1 no. is supposed to mean. I`m not familiar with that measurement! Can anyone tell me? Thank you!
