Step 1

Wash and clean the spinach well.

Step 2

Separate the leaves from the stem and cut them to small sections.

Step 3

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan or a kadai.

Step 4

Saute onion pieces, till they become soft.

Step 5

Add the spinach or cheera along with the green chillies.

Step 6

Add turmeric powder and salt and mix well.

Step 7

Pour a little water.

Step 8

Cover and cook for 2 mins.

Step 9

Grind together the ingredients for grinding along with a little water in a mixer grinder.

Step 10

:- This need not be made into a very fine paste.

Step 11

Open the lid of the kadai and add the ground paste.

Step 12

Mix well with a spoon.

Step 13

Cover again and cook for another 3 mins.

Step 14

:- The curry should be thick in texture. So limit the amount of water.

Step 15

Remove the pan from the flame.

Step 16

Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan or a kadai.

Step 17

Splutter mustard seeds.

Step 18

Add the chopped small onions and curry leaves.

Step 19

Saute, till the onions turn golden brown.

Step 20

Pour the seasoning over the curry and mix well.

Step 21

:- This is a tasty and easy to make curry.

This is an excellent receipe. Try adding a cup of whipped curd after turning off the flame.This will increase the taste.
