Marinate the chicken with some salt and turmeric powder for 30 mins.
Make a powder of red chillies, black pepper, mustard seeds, black jeera, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.
Mix this masala powder with a little water.
Grind the cashews and raisins together and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Saute onion, till brown.
Add garlic and ginger and saute for a min.
Add the masala paste and stir, till the oil separates.
Add the diced tomato and stir well for 2 mins.
Add the marinated chicken and let the chicken get coated well with the masala.
Add 1 1/2 cups of water and salt.
Cover and cook on a medium heat, till the chicken is well done.
Add the cashew and kismis paste and remove from heat.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
:- Serve with palappam, vellappam or chappathi.
If I am correct Vindaloo is a Goan dish not Keralite dish.
This is a type of chicken curry. You never had vindaloo in your life.
The receipe is ok... but this is not what we call vendaloooooooooooo
Hey, please dont get me wrong...Reading this recipe, it sounds like a nice chicken curry, but you cant call it a VINDALOO, esp with CASHEW & RAISINS in them and where is VINEGAR????
