Step 1

Grind together coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, cinnamom, cardamom, cloves and aniseeds into a very smooth paste.

Step 2

Mix together chicken pieces, the ground masala, button onion slices, garlic, ginger, salt, vinegar and curry leaves in a vessel and cook with sufficient water.

Step 3

When the meat is well done and the gravy is thick, remove from fire.

Step 4

:- More boiling water may be added in between to cook the meat soft.

Step 5

Heat oil in a pan.

Step 6

Add mustard seeds and when they crackle, add the sliced onions and fry it to golden brown in colour.

Step 7

Add the meat pieces, without gravy and saute.

It tasted real bad. I didnt like it at all although the meat pieces came out well. The gravy lacked good taste and was very raw. Wouldnt recommend to anyone.

D.E.L.I.C.O.U.S !!!! This is exactly what I would use, if I was in the mood for a very typical `naadan` chiken curry. Perfect propotions and very simple. I`ve made it three times already !! And a definite favorite for my 4 1/2 year old.. Thank you very much.

The recipe is pretty good but please do check out Mrs. K. M. Mathew`s book Kerala Cookery. You will find the same recipe listed under the head Poultry Item No.27 Chicken Peralen Country Style!!

it came out really niceand was very easy to make.but i was little confused at the end.if ur sauting the meat without gravy what shud we do with gravy.when i tried for the first time i sauted the chicken for sometime and added it to the gravy.second time i just added the seasoning to the whole cooked mixture.both ways it was yummy...........thanx alot
