Step 1

For frying the gobi:-
1)Clean the florets and put them in hot water for about half an hour with salt so that worms, if any, would settle at the bottom of the vessel.

2)Mix together the maida, corn flour and salt in a bowl.

3)Pour sufficient amount of water to get a bajji batter consistency.

4)Put the florets in this batter and mix well.

5)Heat oil in a pan.

6)Add the florets little by little and fry them all.

7)Drain them out and keep aside.

For making the manchurian:-
1)Heat 1 tsp of oil in a frying pan.

2)Add the chopped onions, chopped green chillies, julienned onions, diced capsicum and chopped ginger and garlic.

3)Saute for 2 minutes so that the onions and capsicum are still crunchy.

:- The large onion pieces and the diced capsicum pieces will be very tasty in this dish.

4)Add the red chilly sauce, green chilly sauce, tomato sauce, soya sauce, vinegar, ajinomoto and salt to taste.

5)Saute for a minute.

:- If u do not have these sauces, then substitute red chilly sauce, green chilly sauce and tomato sauce with 3 tsp of tomato-chilly sauce.
:- Add very little ajinomoto just to get the Chinese flavor, since its a carcinogen.

6)Add the fried cauliflower to this and saute, until the masala and the florets get fried together nicely.

7)Remove from pan to a serving dish.

:- Serve hot.

Variation:- Can use the same recipe to make mushrooms/baby corn manchurian as well.

Hi Thanks 4 the recepie.Also Lakshmi if u dont want to use something dont use it and Sujee has mentioned it is carcinogenic too..Please refrain from writing hate stuff.It is good not to forget u r roots.


the recipe seems to be very good .But i wanted to know whether the dish would be tasty with out ajinomoto . Because i don`t want to use ajinomoto

This recipe is good. I made it & came out well. Thanks for the recipe. BTW, U r right! Ajinomotto is not good for health. Its good not to use too much of it. I enquired a few chinese & they told that they have almost stopped using it now because of its bad effects on us.
