Directions

Step 1

For preparing chirotee, sift the maida.

Step 2

Mix the two table spoons ghee with maida and add water and knead well. The dough should be hard.

Step 3

Make equal sized small lemon shaped balls.

Step 4

Roll them into circles of 6 cm diameter to thin rounds.

Step 5

Brush melted ghee over each circles.

Step 6

Stack the four rotis one on top of another.

Step 7

Roll them to a cylindrical shape. Now cut the cylinder to small 2 cm pieces evenly.

Step 8

Roll these individal pieces to small circles.

Step 9

In a pan, make a sugar syrup by adding the sugar to equal amount of water and saffron. The syrup should leave a thin trail when you pour with a ladle.

Step 10

Switch off the fire.

Step 11

In a pan, heat the ghee and fry the rolled rotis.

Step 12

Drain and immediately soak them in the sugar syrup

Step 13

After 5 minutes, arrange them in a serving plate. They can be stored in a container for about a week.

Step 14

Chirotee is ready.
