Step 1

For preparing crab stuffed chillies, clean the crabs and cook it in boiling water with salt. Drain the water and pinch out flesh and keep it aside.

Step 2

Heat oil in a vessel and sautT the onion till it becomes transparent.

Step 3

Add in salt and grated ginger. Saute for 2 minutes on low flame.

Step 4

Then sprinkle in chilly powder, turmeric powder, meat masala powder and pepper powder.

Step 5

Toss in the tomato and sautT in low flame till the tomato becomes mushy.

Step 6

Then add in the crab flesh and curry leaves. Mix well and close the lid and allow it to cook on low flame for 2 minutes till it becomes dry. Remove it from the flame and keep it aside.

Step 7

In a bowl mix in gram powder, chilly powder, asafoetida, salt and required water to make a thick batter. Keep it aside.

Step 8

Make a slit on the big chillies and remove the seeds.

Step 9

Stuff the chillies with the crab mixture and repeat with the remaining chillies.

Step 10

Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Dip the crab stuffed chillies in the batter and fry it in oil till it becomes brown.

Step 11

Crab stuffed chillies are ready. Serve hot as a snack.
