Now we are entering the final stages. Sprinkle lemon juice on top of curry and we are going to layer cooked rice on top of cooked beef masala. Place a banana leaf on top of cooked beef masala. Spoon in some biriyani rice on top and sprinkle some fried onion and cashew-raisin combo. Repeat the layering process alternatively till rice reaches the top.   • For preparing the biryani dish, first grind together green chilly, ginger and garlic to make a paste.
  • Keep the ground masala aside.
  • Heat oil in a big bottomed thick vessel.
  • Saute 1 onion, cinnamon, bay leaf and cardamom till the onion turns deep brown in color. Take it from the oil and keep it aside.
  • Pour water, salt and 1/2 tsp of garam masala and let it boil. Once the water boils, add the biryani rice and let it cook with closed lid and drain water completely. Mix pure ghee with the cooked rice. Take it from flame and keep it aside.
  • In a pressure cooker, saute rest of the onions, salt, 1/2 tsp garam masala, coriander leaves in 2-3 tbsp of oil and 2 tsp of pure ghee.
  • Add tomato and saute again.
  • Then add the beef, green chilly paste and mix well.
  • Then add 1 tsp of garam masala and cook it with closed lid for 15-20 minutes or till the beef gets well cooked.
  • Open the lid and mix in the lemon juice.
  • Now place a piece of banana leaf on top of the beef masala.
  • Spoon in some rice and sprinkle some sauteed onion and cashew-raisins on top of it. Repeat the layering procedure alternatively till the rice reaches the top of the cooker. Close the lid and cook it in low flame for a few minutes. Its done to bring the flavor of the masala to the rice.
