Split green gram dhal, cardamom and other ingredients are added to make a payasam.

Step 1

For preparing easy cherupayar payasam, fry split green gram dhal in a pan for a few minutes.

Step 2

Add water and salt and cook the split green gram dhal in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles.

Step 3

Put jaggery in 3/4 glass of hot water and melt it.

Step 4

Fry rasins and cashewnuts in some ghee and keep it aside.

Step 5

Add jaggery syrup, cashewnut, rasins, coconut milk and cardamom powder to the cooked split green gram dhal and boil it again. Add water if necessary.

Step 6

Easy cherupayar payasam is ready.
