Step 1

Blend together all the ingredients for making the paste.

Step 2

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pressure cooker.

Step 3

Fry the blended paste for 4 mins.

Step 4

Add chicken along with a cup of water and salt.

Step 5

Pressure cook for 6 mins with the weight on.

Step 6

Remove from the flame and allow it to cool.

Step 7

After opening the lid, add the cleaned rice.

Step 8

Check the level of salt and top with water(an inch above the rice level).

Step 9

Put it back on fire and pressure cook for another 6 mins.

Step 10

Remove from the flame and open the lid after 10 mins.

Step 11

:- If you really have time and patience, you can fry few fine slices of onion, cashews, raisins and garnish.

Thanks sarah, my family loved it.But i suggest the onion paste should be fried for atleast 10 min..and add more oil if necessary, or the raw taste of onion will not go.anyways its the simplest recipe for chicken biriyani..good work


Didn`t try this yet but does seem much more simple than other recipes. Thanks for this.
