Step 1

For preparing easy tamarind rice, heat ghee in a vessel, sautT the cashews, peanuts and split chick peas. Remove it and keep it aside.

Step 2

Add in mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.

Step 3

Then toss in cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, turmeric powder and dry red chillies. Mix it well.

Step 4

Toss in the basmati rice and sautT it for 1 minute on low flame.

Step 5

Pour in the tamarind juice and water with required salt. Allow it to cook on low flame with the lid till the water is absorbed completely.

Step 6

Garnish with curry leaves, roasted cashew nuts, peanuts and split chick peas.

Step 7

Easy tamarind rice is ready. Serve hot with any gravy.
