Step 1

For preparing easy tomato rice, heat ghee in a vessel, roast the cashew nuts and raisins separately. Remove from the flame and keep it aside.

Step 2

In the same ghee splutter mustard seeds.

Step 3

Toss in the cloves and cinnamon. Saute it for 1 minute on low flame.

Step 4

Saute in the onions till it becomes transparent.

Step 5

Sprinkle in turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt.

Step 6

Pour in the tomato paste and sautT it for 2 minutes.

Step 7

Then pour in the water and allow it to boil.

Step 8

Once the water boils toss in the basmati rice and allow it to cook on low flame till done.

Step 9

Lastly, garnish with coriander leaves, fried cashew nuts and raisins.

Step 10

Easy tomato rice is ready. Serve hot with chicken curry.
