Fish Biriyani-Malabar Style

This Fish Biriyani is an authentic biriyani from the famous Malabar side, which is considered to be the paradise for famous biriyanis. There is a speciality in the preparation of this biriyani and that it is prepared in the traditional wooden burning stove and not is the normal gas stove. The ghee rice is arranged in layers with chopped coriander leaves,garam masala,fried onion,cashews and served with fried fish masala together.

Marinate the fish pieces in masala and deep fry it in oil.

Heat oil in a pan,fry onion,cashew nuts,raisins seperatly until golden brown in color.

Add choped coriander leaves,garam masala and mix well.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker,add all the ingredients under the heading 'for rice'.

Pressure cook it for 1 whistle.

Take another vessel .add 1/4 portion of rice into it,spread some fried onion mixture.again layer the rice and repeat the same procedd.

Finally add some coriander leaves and some melted ghee evenly.close the lid tightly and cook it for 10 minutes in low flame.Biriyani rice is ready now.

Heat oil in a vessel and fry onion with salt until it is golden brown in colour.

Add tomato.

Add garam masala,turmeric powder, curry leaves,coriander leaves, ginger garlic and green chilly paste.saute for another 5 minutes.

Add fried fish pieces.

Cook again for 2 minutes and remove from the flame.
