slice the brinjal

in a bowl add brinjal, red chili powder, salt, coriander powder and turmeric powder and mix it

marinate for 10 mins

in a blender add red chili, tomato, coconut, fennel seed and peanut

add littler water and make a fine paste

in a pan heat the oil and fry the brinjal for 2 mins until it get 1/2 boiled

in a same oil temper the mustard and broken urad dal

add onion, salt and curry leaves and saute it for 5 mins

add masala paste, mix well and allow to cook for 5 mins until the raw smell goes out

add 1 glass of water to the masala and cook for 5 mins in medium flame
