Step 1

Grind the coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilly with salt. Make sure it is not over grinded.

Marinate the chicken with masala paste, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, chilli powder, salt, curd, turmeric powder, garam masala and 1 tbsp of oil.

Wash the rice and soak it in water for 1/2 an hour.

Cook basmati rice in lots of water along with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, salt and 2 spoon oil till its half cooked. Drain off the water and allow to cool.

Heat equal quantities of oil and ghee in a pan.

Add onion cut in roundels and fry till they turn light dark brown and remove it to a bowl.

Add chopped onion and ginger-garlic paste in the pan containing rest of the oil. Stir till it becomes light brown colour.

Add marinated chicken with the onion and stir for 3 minutes and cover with lid.

:- Avoid adding additional water.

Allow to cook on low flame.

Take a wide deep vessel to prepare for biriyani.

Put some oil and spread it all over the vessel.

Step 13

Add half of the cooked rice into the vessel and spread half of the cooked chicken layer upon it.

Step 14

Add light brown round shape onion.

Step 15

Add some ghee and food colour mixed with lime juice over the rice.

Step 16

Cover with the lid and keep weight on the lid. Keep on a low flame for 10 minutes.

Step 17

:- Serve hot with raitha or curry.
