Step 1

Grind together the red chillies and turmeric powder well.

Step 2

Cook the vegetable along with the ground mixture, salt and water.

Step 3

When the jack fruit is cooked, mash the pieces.

Step 4

Grind together coconut, small onions and curry leaves.

Step 5

Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.

Step 6

Add gram and mustard seeds.

Step 7

When the mustard seeds splutter, add the red chillies and curry leaves.

Step 8

Add the jackfruit strands and the ground coconut mixture.

Step 9

Saute ithe mix well.

Step 10

Cover the pan and allow it to cook.

Step 11

:- Serve with rice.

Step 12

:- When you use canned jackfruit, drain the water in it and run the vegetable through cold water. This will remove excess sodium.
