Step 1

Marinate the chicken pieces with a mixture of 1/2 tbsp chilly powder, 1/2 tsp pepper powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix everything together and keep aside for 1/2 hour.

Step 2

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a frying pan. Dry fry marinated chicken till it get half cooked. Remove chicken pieces and keep aside.

Step 3

Saute onions and green chillies in the remaining oil. Add more oil if needed. When it turns light brown, add ginger-garlic paste. Then add remaining coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, cardamon, cloves and cinnamon.

Step 4

Stir in chicken pieces and mix well. After that, add tomato and salt as required.

Step 5

Mix well and add 1/2 cup of water. Let it boil. Cover the pan and keep in simmering heat till chicken gets well cooked (for about 15 minutes).

Step 6

Add coconut milk and heat in low flame. Remove pan from fire before boiling starts.

Step 7

Garnish with coriander leaves.
