Clean and cut chicken into medium pieces.

Crush together shallots, garlic, ginger and green chillies.

Heat oil in a heavy bottom vessel.

Add curry leaves and onion and saute, till they become soft.

Add the crushed shallot mixture and simmer for 1 minute.

Add all powders and stir once.

Add chicken and tomatoes and allow it to boil.

When it starts boiling, add salt.

Cover and cook in simmer for 20 - 30 minutes.

When the oil separates, allow it to cook on a low flame for another 10 minutes to roast it.

:- Serve hot with boiled rice or rotis.

Very nice. I also added 1/2 tsp pepper powder and two cardamom. Added 1 cup of water for boiling.

I was a bit skeptical about how it will turn out to be, but once prepared it was very good & spicy like how we like it. I added a bit of pepper as well. Thanks a lot for the recipe!!!

Do we need to add water to cook the chicken???? Pls tell how much of each ingredient to take for one person...........
