Step 1

First sieve maida and baking powder finely.

Step 2

Mix butter with sugar and blend with a beater or by wooden spoon in a bowl.

Step 3

Add maida and egg(beaten)alternately.

Step 4

After that, divide the mixture into 2 equal halves.

Step 5

To one half, add vanilla essence(dissolve vanilla in 2 tbsp milk) and mix well.

Step 6

To the second half, add cocoa powder/chocolate (dissolve the cocoa in 2 tbsp milk) and mix well.

Step 7

Grease a baking dish with butter and pour this mixtures alternately into it.

Step 8

Stir the mix lightly with a fork.

Step 9

Bake in a hot oven for about 45 mins.


the cake was so good dat my kids loved it so much dat they keep asking me to make it every weekend.....thanks a lot....

shineyIts not mentioned at what temperature it should bake, only time has given.Can you please tell me at what temperature pre heat the oven and what temperature to bake?


I tried this recipe.. it turned out soo good.


the cake was awesome. Good recipe. I tried with adding some chocolate chips in it and it tasted good with that. And i also added some more milk in it to make it to a cake consistency. Altogether it was great.
