Ingredients

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.

Step 2

Add the balck gram, Bengal gram, sliced onions, red chillies and jeera.

Step 3

Add salt.

Step 4

Continue to saute.

Step 5

Add more oil, if it is too dry.

Step 6

Once the onions are soft and brown, put in a blender.

Step 7

Add the coriander leaves and water.

Step 8

Grind it to a fine consistency.

Step 9

:- Onion Chutney is ready,

Step 10

:- Serve Onion Chutney with dosa or idli.

I am so glad I tried your recipe. Found it really simple and quick to make. Loved it! I added couple of more chillies to make it spicier and used about 1/4th teaspoon of concentrated tamarind pulp while grinding the mixture - just to make it a little tangy. Good with idli. Thank you for the great idea.
