Step 1

Grind together coconut, red chillies, garlic, cumin seeds and turmeric powder into a coarse paste.

Step 2

Heat a tbsp of oil in a pan or a kadai.

Step 3

Stir fry the mushrooms, until they are cooked and keep aside.

Step 4

Pour remaining oil into the kadai.

Step 5

Splutter mustard seeds.

Step 6

Add black gram and curry leaves and chopped onion and saute, till they turn golden brown.

Step 7

Add the ground mixture and saute for 2 - 3 seconds.

Step 8

Add salt and mix well.

Step 9

Add mushrooms and cook again for 1 - 2 mins.

i tried this recipe and liked it a lot .very easy to make ...and tastes like an authentic kerala dish.everyone should try it. i added coriander leaves too
