Easy to make thoran with Gherkins (Kovakka)

Step 1

Clean the kovakka very well and cut them into small pieces.

Step 2

Add to it the finely chopped small onions, green chillies, salt and turmeric powder.

Step 3

Place it in a vessel along with 1/2 glass of water and allow it to cook.

Step 4

Pound together the grated coconut and curry leaves in a mixer bowl.

Step 5

Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.

Step 6

Splutter mustard seeds and saute finely chopped small onions, dry red chillies and curry leaves.

Step 7

Add the cooked kovakka and the coconut mixture and mix well.

Step 8

Cook further, till done.


If you add a teaspoon of dhania powder to the coconut mixture, its good.


This recipe was ok,not so good.
