Step 1

For preparing la creme d`oignon, saute onions in butter until brown in colour.

Step 2

Add in grape juice and sugar. Allow it to cook till it becomes a sauce.

Step 3

Pour this sauce into the stock. Add in rice and cream.

Step 4

Bring it gently to boil and allow it to simmer until cooked thoroughly.

Step 5

Blend it and strain it.

Step 6

Cut bread into small squares. Put grated cheese on top of each bread piece and grill till the cheese melts.

Step 7

La cream d`oignon is ready. Put the cheesy bread pieces on a plate. Serve with soup and garnish with extra cream.
